The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) administers grants to financial sector organisations that sponsor eligible Singapore based participants to training programmes that meet qualifying criteria. 1. 
Course Objectives

1.1.             To provide opportunity for graduates or individuals with working experience, with purpose of educating and training for a career in Islamic Banking and Finance.

1.2.             To train executives desiring specializing in Islamic banking and Finance, to assist expansion in the banking and finance industry.

1.3.             To provide opportunity for students in related disciplines to pursue a certificate in Islamic Banking & Finance in order to prepare them to enter into the job market in Islamic banking and Finance.

 2. Structure & Duration:

2.1.              Completed within 6-month programme

2.2.             Classes are conducted on every alternate Sundays.

3.1.             Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh)

3.2.             Fiqh Muamalat for Banking and Finance

3.3.             Islamic Economics and Business

3.4.             Islamic Banking Operations 1

3.5.             Islamic Banking Operations 2

3.6.             Islamic instruments for Project Financing

3.7.             Financial Accounting For Islamic Financial Institutions

3.8.             Zakat and Zakat Accounting

3.9.             Takaful and Risk Management

3.10.          Issues in Islamic Financial Market   

4. Evaluation method:

4.1 Attendances and Assessments

  • Students must comply with the assessment and attendance guidelines rules by the IIUM.
  • Attendances:
    • Students must attend all 10 modules to qualify for the Certificate in Islamic Banking and Finance by IIUM.
    • Should any student miss any of modules; he/she will need to attend a make up lesson in the next possible intake. An administration fees will be impose for each arrangement of make up lesson.
    • CIMS and/or IIUM will not be issuing any type of certification to students who did not fulfill all the required 10 modules until he/she completes them.
    • For EACH MODULES, students must be actively participating in any form of discussions and trainings. You are required to be present FOR EACH MODULE at least 80%.
    • Attendance signature will be taken twice for each module. One in the morning and another one at anytime prescribe by the modules lecturer or staff in charge.
  • Assessments:
    • For EACH MODULES, students must submit all assessments and/or any form of assessment given by their respective lecturers on or before their set deadlines. All assessment / assignments must be submitted to CIMS or CIMS English Islamic Bookshop at their head office of  32 Onan Road,  Singapore 424484. All assignments must reach CIMS before or on the given deadline. 
    • For EACH MODULES, students must submit two copies of their assignment.
  • Passing Marks
    • Attendances in all modules carries a maximum of 40% weightage on your passing mark
    • Submission of all given assessments or quizzes or exam or any form of assessments by the lecturers in all modules carries a maximum of 60% weightage on your passing mark
    • In order to pass, you must attained at least 50%

  • GCE O level or its equivalent.

6.2.             Certified true copies of your respective certificates stated in the application form

6.3.             2 non returnable passport sized photos

6.4.             A Registration fee of $50 (non refundable)

If notice of withdrawal is given in writing;

                   Two months or more before commencement date  full refund

                     Less than 2 weeks before commencement date  50% refund

                     After commencement  no refund   

*Note: Refund process will take about 2 mths to process and will be treated on a case-to-case basis.

11. Frequently Ask Questions;

Q1. How much is it?


Full Course Fee is $3500.  One time non-refundable registration fee is chargeable at only $50

 

Q2. Is there any discounts?


Yes, $450 off the person course fee if they pay in full upon registration before the closing date.

 
Q3. How long is the course?
10 Modules within 6 months. Alternate Sundays from 9.30am to 5.30pm 

Q4. What is the minimum entry level?


GCE 0 Level or equivalent

 

Q5. Can a foreign person on Social Visit pass sign up?


Yes, but we will not grant any student visa. The foreign person must be aware that they will not be able to use our letter to extend their visa in the Republic of Singapore

 

Q6. Can a foreign person on Work PassDependent Pass or Long Term Visit Pass sign up?


Yes, to Work Pass and Dependent Pass holders but for Long Term Visit Pass holder is subjected to CIMS review.

Q8. Will there be any refreshment?


As this is a corporate seminar room, participants are not encourage to eat and drink inside their classroom. However, there is plenty of vending machines and nice restaurants and coffee houses in the vicinity.

 

Q9. Who will be our lecturers?


This programme is in collaboration with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). All lecturers and training materials are directly from the university.
